Kerissa Armstead was born in Orlando, FL and moved to North Carolina in 2016. She joined Franklin County Schools in 2018. Prior to joining Franklin County Schools, she worked as an outreach educator for the Museum of Science and Industry, an outdoor recreation specialist for the City of Durham, and a park assistant for the City of Raleigh. As a teacher, she likes to keep the classroom fun, while maintaining a high level of rigor. She and her husband have a dog and a cat and live in Louisburg.

Mrs. Gupton is a science enthusiast with a background in health sciences and microbiology. She became a teacher in 2018 after realizing her passion of pouring into youth and sharing scientific knowledge with others. She thoroughly enjoys teaching at the Early College High School. Outside of work she loves spending time with her husband and three children. She also enjoys being outside, animals, all things fall, and all things Christmas.
