Ben Snelling Cancer Classic
The Ben Snelling Cancer Classic is an annual community and running event held at V.E. & Lydia H. Owens Recreational Park at Bull Creek. The is scheduled for the 2nd Saturday of October of each year. The Ben Snelling Cancer Classic features a College Team Men's 8K Race, College Women's Team 5K Race, High School Boy's and Girl's Team 5K races, Community 5K Run/Walk, Community 3K Walk Run, Food and Fun for Kids and Adults. Awards are presented. All profits from this event are donated to the Jimmy V. foundation for cancer research. This event is named for Ben Snelling, a cancer survivor and supporter of FHS athletics. The Ben Snelling Cancer Classic is sponsored by Kingdom Community Development Center, Red Ram Running, and Franklin County Parks and Recreation.
